The Design Story

The Braque Mirror takes its cue from early modernist composition, where grids and proportion create visual rhythm. The simple panelled arrangement gives the piece clarity, while the foxed surface softens reflection and introduces depth. Restrained in detail and generous in scale, it is designed to anchor a room rather than decorate it.

Behind the Scenes

Each mirror plate is individually silvered and aged by hand, allowing subtle tonal variation and foxing to develop naturally across the surface. The segmented composition requires careful alignment so that the grid remains precise while still retaining the softness and irregularity of the antiquing process. Set within a finely detailed brass frame, the finished piece balances crisp structure with the atmospheric quality unique to hand-silvered glass.
