Our Story
Rooted in Rupert’s early years as a gilder and restorer, the company was shaped by a respect for materials, a sensitivity to finish, and a commitment to traditional craft.
Today, the company has evolved into a collective of designers and makers, brought together by a shared respect for craftsmanship and a commitment to setting the benchmark for British craft-led making.
The heart of the company remains our Shropshire workshops, where we design, shape, join, and finish pieces all under one roof. Our work across wood, metal, glass, and specialist finishes preserves traditional techniques, and keeps a direct relationship between maker and material.
Our London showroom and Shropshire workshops come together to provide a complete service – from early discussions and material development through to making and installation – each project is approached with clarity and restraint, resulting in pieces designed to endure both in use and character.
We collaborate closely with designers, architects, and private clients, creating pieces for residential and hospitality settings in the UK and internationally. Design is informed by making, and every piece is shaped through careful consideration rather than standardisation.
Over time, the scope and scale of our business may have changed, but our origins continue to shape who we are and what we produce. Whether from the RB Collection or a bespoke commission, every piece reflects a genuine respect for materials and a commitment to craft.
