The Design Story

The Lucian Mirror explores contrast through form and material. A crisp internal frame draws the eye inward, while the rounded outer edge softens the overall silhouette. Unlike other mirrors in the Collection that use mirrored cathedral glass, the Lucian features paper-backed cathedral glass, allowing colour and texture to take precedence over reflection. The result is richer, flatter, and more saturated.

Behind the Scenes

Each section of cathedral glass is carefully selected for its tone, depth, and movement before being paper-backed by hand to preserve the richness of the colour. Every component is individually cut, framed, and assembled in the Shropshire workshops, where the slight irregularities within the glass and silvering are retained as part of the character of the piece.
