The Design Story

Influenced by classic Danish furniture design, the Harp Chair takes its name from the delicate arrangement of slender brass rods that sweep across the backrest like the strings of a harp. The design explores the balance between strength and delicacy, a chair reduced to its essential elements, yet still rich in detail and craftsmanship. Designed to work equally well around a dining table or as a standalone occasional chair, the Harp Chair has an understated elegance that feels both contemporary and timeless.

Behind the Scenes

Each Harp Chair begins with a solid oak frame, shaped and assembled by hand to achieve the chair’s precise curves and fine proportions. The continuous back rail requires careful steam bending and shaping to maintain a fluid, uninterrupted line. The slender brass rods are individually cut, polished and fitted by hand. The final finish enhances both the warmth of the timber and the soft lustre of the brass.
