The Design Story

The Vero draws on the enduring appeal of bamboo-inspired furniture and metalwork, long associated with both Regency and later Hollywood Regency interiors. Rather than interpreting bamboo literally, the design captures its rhythm, segmentation, and organic irregularity in brass, giving the piece a refined and understated glamour.

Behind the Scenes

Each Vero Mirror section begins as a solid brass rod, painstakingly hand-carved to evoke the natural rhythm and irregularity of bamboo cane. Using fine chisels, files, and engraving tools, a skilled craftsperson gradually shapes every node and contour by hand, a slow and highly specialised process that can take many hours to complete. The subtle variations left by the maker are intentionally preserved within the surface, giving the frame a character and authenticity that cannot be replicated mechanically.
