A great piece by designer April Russell on the House Directory blog, with some lovely images of her interiors – including an Art Deco desk we designed and made, and some waxed brown gesso panelling in a hallway. April’s advice about displaying art is really helpful too.

It was a great delight to host an exhibition of Lisa Swerling’s fantastic ‘Glass Cathedrals’ on the evening of November 6th. Thank you so much to Lisa for sharing her wonderful artwork in our studio, and to everyone who came and helped make it a fabulous event! If you haven’t come across Lisa’s Glass Cathedrals yet I suggest checking out her website, It was a rare chance to see her work in the UK, and a genuine privilege to explore the intricacies of the miniature worlds she creates. Highly recommended!

We are delighted to report on the fantastic success of the inaugural year running Queens Park Design District as part of the London Design Festival. Based mainly in Lonsdale Road (where our showroom and studio are located), a vibrant and interesting street with a proliferation of independent design companies, we watched the district come to life with open studios and events throughout the week. The highlight was the exclusive press and client event which took place on Thursday 16th September, which saw the street transformed into a fantastic party, with wild carnivalesque elements as well as sophistication and a chance for cultural and artistic exploration. Everyone involved had a great time, personally as well as professionally. Already we are looking forward to next year! A big thank you to the hard work of all those involved, and to everyone who visited.

A Note of Appreciation

June 05, 2014

As designers, makers and finishers of exceptional pieces of fine bespoke furniture, here at Rupert Bevan Ltd we take immense pride in our work and in creating custom made specialist pieces that meet the specifications of our clients perfectly. It is of utmost importance that these unique pieces, which can take months to design, make and finish, are handled and delivered with the same care and attention to detail.

Chris Godly and his team at A-B 24/7 Couriers provide us with just that, and we are immensely grateful to have them working with us. They always seem able to meet our requirements in terms of load size, manpower and timing – and are very obliging and flexible even when an urgent job arises and we need to book at the last minute! We trust them with very fragile and delicately finished pieces which even the tiniest amount of mishandling could destroy. Highly efficient and reliable, Chris and his team are also friendly, helpful and co-operative – so it is always a pleasure to see them as well as being completely stress-free to work with them. A big thank you to them all for providing such a great service.
